How BackgroundRemove handles your information

BackgroundRemove provides online background remove, image editing, and batch processing. We collect only the information needed to run these features, keep your account secure, process payments, and improve the service. By using BackgroundRemove you agree to the practices in this policy.
Information we collect
- Images you upload so the background remover can prepare cutouts, previews, and edited results.
- Account details such as your email address, display name, and sign-in method if you create an account.
- Purchase records such as plan, credits, amount, and payment status. Card details are handled by our payment provider and never reach our servers.
- Usage and device information such as pages visited, actions taken, browser type, approximate location, and error logs.
- Messages you send to hi@backgroundremove.art and any files you attach to them.
How we use information
- To run each background remove, generate AI backgrounds or expansions you request, and deliver downloads.
- To keep your results, credits, and subscription available in your account.
- To prevent abuse, enforce usage limits, and protect the security of the service.
- To answer support requests and send service messages such as verification codes.

Uploaded files and outputs
Uploaded images and the results of a background remove are stored with our cloud storage providers so they can be processed and shown back to you. Guest results are linked to your browser session. Signed-in results stay in your account until you delete them or close the account. We do not sell your images or use them in public galleries.

We share data only with providers that help us run BackgroundRemove, such as hosting, storage, AI processing, payment, email, and analytics services, and only as needed for their task. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect users and the service.

Retention and deletion
We keep account data while your account is active and purchase records as long as tax and accounting rules require. You can delete individual results in your account, or ask us at hi@backgroundremove.art to delete the account and its stored images.
Security
BackgroundRemove uses encrypted connections, access controls, and trusted cloud providers to protect uploaded images and account data. No online service can be completely secure, so please use a strong password and contact us if you notice anything unusual in your account.
Children
The background remover is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
Your choices
You can use the background remover as a guest without an account, delete results you no longer need, unsubscribe from optional emails, and request access to or correction of your data. Changes to this policy will be posted on this page with a new date.
